Exodus found on the interstate

Written on 06/10/1996 at a time when I feel that I was awakening from the shock of all the changes in my life to find that I no longer had one.

No matter what I write, the lyrics come out the same
The music sounds so drained
No matter where I go, everyone wants to play a game
The places I see are already named

Doesn't anyone care anymore?
Doesn't anyone feel?
What happened to the days when . . .
People helped each other
When did they stop, oh
Why did they stop?

Now I travel to the ends of the earth
I'm looking for a place where people have some worth
Ill probably never find it
I think it's just a dream
This is not the way things were meant to be

Doesn't anyone care anymore?
Doesn't anyone feel?
What happened to the days when . . .
People helped each other
When did they stop, oh
Why did they stop?

Now I look out upon this bleak gray world
Not worth keeping
Not worth saving
Just worth making . . .
The end
