I Wanna Go Home

A song of loss

Written on 05/01/1998, This song is actually a combimantion of two poems I had written previously. I combined them to create this song for the National Lyrics Contest (USA). I apparently managed to end up in the top 1000.

I wanna go home, hang up the phone
I don't want to be alone
Can't you see that it's not just me?
I wanna go home

You know you really love somebody, when they're going away
You know you really need somebody, when there's nothing left to say
Then you know you'll miss somebody, when it's too late

I leave the responsibility, forget the phone
Maybe I'm better off alone
I can't see, it must be me
I wanna go home

You know you really love somebody when they're going away
You know you really need somebody when there's nothing left to say
And you know you've lost somebody, then it's too late

Veering out of control
Disconnect the phone, I'll always be alone
Sight blurred, who are we anyway?
We can't be alone, when it's too late
